On September 11, 2017 we held an evening community meeting to discuss the possibility of artist live/work spaces on the lot between The Showcase and site of the Great Plains Black Museum on Lake Street. We had a great turn out and many people got to voice their ideas and perspectives for progress in the neighborhood.
We heard from over 75 of our neighbors on what they'd like to see the communal spaces of the building function as. There were a myriad of creative ideas from bringing the Great Plains Black History museum back to Lake Street to creating outdoor gathering spaces for movie nights, community cookouts, and events. Thanks to all that showed up, ate some great grub, and provided your insights for what you'd like to see in our community!
