This summer we are so lucky to welcome two part-time employees to The Union staff!
Demond and Tynisha will be working with us through the summer on all sorts of projects, but are especially excited to help out with the handful of murals + public art things we will have going on. Their positions are funded through the Empowerment Network + the City of Omaha's Step-Up Program that employes over 400 youth from our community at businesses and organizations around town. Both Demond and Tynisha have extensive artmaking experience and are giddy to get started making their mark in our local art community.
Welcome them to The Union and get to know them a little better!
TYNISHA, Central High School Graduate '15
How was your first week at The Union? It was fun doing gardening and screen printing!
What sorts of art making do you like to do? I like to paint with Acrylic and use graphite to create realism drawings.
What about art drew you to this Step-Up position? My Step-Up Coach heard I like to do art so he asked if I'd like to do art murals.
Was there anything from your first week that inspired you? Doing the screenprinting!
What do you think the biggest challenge will be to working at The Union this summer? Probably the mural.
