Please join us August 21st, 6-9PM for a kith potluck dinner and artist talk in Heather Johanson’s Refuge.
Refuge - temporary public art project at the corner of 25th and Lake Streets - is a 1500 square foot garden on an empty lot. The garden serves as public space and a lifeline for migrating birds and insects. As urban decay gives way to demolition and open lots of lawn, Refuge seeks to reimagine what might be possible as a valuable land use solution in a location near the Missouri river, a major migration route.
The Union will provide water, wine, and lemonade – please bring a dish to share and learn about the ecological effect of Refuge on North Omaha.
THIS PROGRAM IS PRESENTED WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE NEBRASKA ARTS COUNCIL AND THE NEBRASKA CULTURAL ENDOWMENT.
