We hear from artists of all mediums over and over that talking about their work is one of the most difficult aspects of being an artist. Assert the value of your creative work by practicing how you talk about it with Squishtalk’s conversation consultant Stuart Chittenden. Space is limited.

Summer School is a collaborative professional development series for artists coordinated by The Union for Contemporary Art, Omaha Creative Institute, and Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts. Other classes include: 

A panel of Bemis Center staff and guests will discuss hot topics related to professional development submitted by local artists and creatives. Q & A + networking to follow.

Certified art appraiser, Launa Bacon (Darger HQ, Nebraska Arts Council), and local artist extraordinaire, Bart Vargas, will guide you through the process of pricing your work for different mediums, pricing your time for art-related jobs, understanding primary and secondary art markets, and a step-by-step guide to working on commission. Space is limited.
