Laura Carlson, mother of two cats, is a painter and Omaha native. Intimately exploring her own body, Carlson creates 2-D works that explore discomfort with the corporeal self.

In January 2013, she began work as an intern at the Bemis Center’s Carver Bank location; she is now special assistant to the executive director there. Carlson graduated cum laude from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art and art history; there she served as assistant for the Lied Art Gallery.
