Together Workshop: Costume Design w/ Celeste Butler

Sat, Apr 27
10:30–3:30 pm

The Union for Contemporary Art

2423 North 24th Street

Omaha, NE 68110

As part of the Union's Youth program, Together Workshops are designed for families to explore creative processes together, such as printmaking, ceramics, gardening, painting, and food preservation. Each month, we offer multiple opportunities to participate in these artist-led experiences.

In this Together Workshop, participants will tour the 30 Americans exhibit at Joslyn to explore the work of the featured artists. After reflection and a brief lunch in the sculpture garden, participants will return to the Union to design costumes inspired by Nick Cave's soundsuits. No experience required. Participants should bring a sack lunch and old clothes (sweatshirt + pants) to transform into a magical work of art! This workshop is provided in partnership with The Union for Contemporary Art and Joslyn Art Museum.

Ages 8 and up

$10 per adult/child pair

NOTE // Participants will meet at The Union. The bus departs for Joslyn at 10:45am and returns to The Union at 1:00pm; concluding with a two hour costume design workshop at The Union.

**As part of The Union's broad commitment to making the arts accessible to all, regardless of financial means, we follow a Radical Hospitality model. If the workshop price is cost prohibitive, a limited number of cost-free tickets are available in advance of the workshop. Please contact Jacquline Smith, for more information.
