The Union for Contemporary Art is committed to strengthening the creative culture of the greater Omaha area by providing direct support to our local artists -- helping them to progress in their creative practice and careers.

Throughout the year, The Union sponsors seminars and workshops to help educate and support our arts community by providing them with the skills they need to excel as professional artists. These programs provide artists with access to other professional artists who share information on topics ranging from tax and investment advice, how to strengthen a portfolio, how to get gallery representation or how to apply to grad school. We also offer hands-on sessions to teach artists the skills they need to improve or expand their artistic practice.

Summer School: Boot Camp for Artists // July 14

In partnership with Omaha Creative Institute and Bemis Center for Creative Arts, this year’s Summer School: A Professional Development Series for Artists is condensed into one jam-packed day of development for artists working in all disciplines.  

This year’s focus is on presentation development with sessions on how to present your artist self and creative practice in the public, digital, and professional realms. The day’s events include a panel discussion, facilitated workshop on digital presentation, and an opportunity to practice presenting your work pecha kucha style. Free with lunch provided!
