TOGETHER WORKSHOPS

As part of The Union’s Youth program, Together Workshops are designed for families to explore creative processes together, such as printmaking, ceramics, gardening, painting, and more. Each month, we offer multiple opportunities to participate in these artist-led experiences. Follow the links below to register for individual workshops.

Together Workshop: Sugar-Less Dessert Cooking with Lex founder of Soular Power Plate
Sunday, March 31| 2 – 4pm
$10 fee adult/child pair
May add additional adults/children for $1
Ages 5 and up

In this Together Workshop, participants will learn how to make handmade nut milk and identify the various types of sugars and sweeteners in order to make healthier choices. No experience required. Come ready to prepare and taste sweet treats in a whole new way. This workshop includes samples of a sugar-less dessert.

Together Workshop:  Vegan Soul Food w/ Lex founder of Soular Power Plate
Tuesday, April 9 | 6:30 – 8pm
$10 fee adult/child pair
May add additional adults/children for $1
Ages 10 and up

In this Together Workshop, participants will learn how to make America's favorite food, Mac & Cheese, utilizing dairy-free alternatives. Participants will explore a myriad of techniques to craft plant based milk options like cashew, coconut and more! This recipe is infused with super foods like turmeric and garlic. No experience required. Come ready to expand your palate. This workshop includes samples of a creamy oven-baked vegan mac and cheese.

Together Workshop: Wire Sculpture With Teri Coolidge
Sunday, April 28 | 2 – 4pm
$10 fee adult/child pair
May add additional adults/children for $1
Ages 7 and up

In this Together Workshop, participants will learn basic techniques and tools used for sculpting with wire. No experience required. Step by step instruction will be given to construct a dragonfly. Come ready to get wired! This workshop includes one finished project per participant.

Together Workshop: Costume Design w/ Celeste Butler
Saturday April 27 | 10:30am – 3:30pm

$10 fee adult/child pair
May add additional adults/children for $1
Ages 8 and up

In this Together Workshop, participants will tour the 30 Americans exhibit at Joslyn to explore the work of the featured artists. After reflection and a brief lunch in the sculpture garden, participants will return to the Union to design costumes inspired by Nick Cave's soundsuits. No experience required. Participants should bring a sack lunch and old clothes (sweatshirt + pants) to transform into a magical work of art! This workshop is provided in partnership with The Union for Contemporary Art and Joslyn Art Museum.

NOTE // Participants will meet at The Union. The bus departs for Joslyn at 10:45am and returns to The Union at 1:00pm, concluding with a two hour costume design workshop at The Union.
