Join members of the Blazing Star Seed Cooperative in the Abundance garden to learn how to save tomato and pepper seeds. This will be a hands-on class in which we will save seeds from San Marzano tomatoes and King of the North Bell Peppers that are growing in the Abundance Garden. The seeds saved in this class will go into the Blazing Star Seed Cooperatives' distribution and be available for free to community members for the 2023 growing season through the annual seed share, the Omaha Public Library's Common Soil Seed Library and other community groups and events. Participants will learn basic seed saving principles, will practice how to process tomato and peppers seeds for saving and learn how to contribute to community efforts to increase the amount of locally saved seed in Omaha.
