Payden (Peer Mentor)

Meet Payden

Payden is a peer mentor at the Union for Contemporary Art. He has always had an interest in working with youth and has held roles as an Early Childhood Teacher as well as a Behavior Technician. He has his Child Development Associate (CDA) and an Associate’s Degree in Psychology.

Payden is a photographer who enjoys shooting during the night or in low-light settings, utilizing vivid colors and contrasting lights that give his work a unique style. His work explores topics that have a strong tie to his own personal journey and he uses art as a way to express himself. He is inspired by the work of Robert Mapplethorpe and Nan Goldin. During his time at the Union, he hopes to help youth form connections to the art world and explore their own art style.
