Originally from the island of Montserrat in the British West Indies, Michael Stryder is a fine art photographer living in Omaha who focuses primarily on documentary and portrait work. Having studied for two years at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, he became a photo assistant in New York City for ten years, primarily under the guidance of world-renowned Swedish photographer Patrik Andersson. He was invited to exhibit with The Andy Warhol Foundation and the Art Directors Club in NYC under the show name “Young Guns”, and as a result was named one of the top new photographers to watch.
