As a lover of various perspectives and unblocked creativity, I find a heavy amount of that within youth. Most, if not all, of my work is inspired by strong human experiences since they’re always so full of vulnerable, raw emotion.
I use striking, bright colors within my artwork, wanting to represent the need for coexistence between humanity and that beauty can be found within anything and everything. Art is a chance for me to be able to express confusing, misunderstood, or undesired concepts that never seem to leave my peripheral. In making my art I hope to bring people comfort in knowing they’re not alone, or simply having them feel or think something they otherwise wouldn’t have.
Who inspires you?
Someone who’s inspired my art practice beyond recognition is Atsushi Sakurai. His work acknowledges the difficulty of what it is to be human yet embraces human nature all the more. I admire his talent profoundly.
If you could be any animal, what would it be? Why?
I would be a seagull because I love the thought of being able to steal someone’s food and fly away with it.
