I am excited to work with youth because I hope to create a welcoming space where they can explore their creativity, try new materials, and gain confidence in their artistic abilities. My artistic journey has been heavily influenced by my family, culture, and artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe, John Galliano and Frida Kahlo. I enjoy working with a variety of materials including acrylic paint, watercolor, fabric and mixed media. My artwork often explores themes of culture, identity and the connections we share with one another. I believe art is a powerful way to tell stories, express emotions and bring people together.
During my time at The Union, I hope to encourage youth to experiment, embrace their unique ideas, and understand that there is no single "right" way to create art.
Who inspires you?
I am inspired by artists like Georgia O'Keeffe, John Galliano, and Frida Kahlo because of their creativity and unique ways of expressing themselves through their work. However, my biggest inspiration is my family whose strength, culture and experiences have shaped who I am and influence the art I create.
If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Why?
I would be green because it has always been my favorite color. To me green represents growth, nature and creativity, which reflects my personality and artistic journey.
