Opening Reception

Fri, May 29, 5:00–8:00pm

Collecting Memories presents a collection of memories, storytelling, and folklore, celebrating the folktales of Latin America, mainly from her homeland, Guatemala. The bold colors, patterns, and themes are recollections of the collective imagination that inspired her while growing up. She aims to translate into visual form the fantastical tales and characters passed down by oral tradition through generations, offering a contemporary approach to Latin American aesthetics, traditions, and tales.
