Jessica Freeman

Jessica Freeman first joined the team as a youth teaching artist in the spring of 2019. Returning in 2020, Jess will lead ceramic workshops for youth in our Art Club program on Saturday afternoons. In 2013, she began teaching art with Omaha Public Schools and has since moved into the nonprofit sector. Jessica received her Bachelor in Art Education K-12 from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is a lifelong artist from a family of creators. Jessica is passionate about many different media and enjoys the thrill of creating new and beautiful things. She believes creativity is a birthright and seeks to empower everyone around her to be empowered by the creative process.

Where is your favorite place in the world and why? My home! It’s filled with color and music and all the things I love!


If you were a crayon, what color would you be and why? Carnation Pink! It’s such a happy, warm, simple color.


What is the best advice you’ve heard or received? “Done is better than perfect.” Perfection is hard to overcome, but this quote reminds me it’s better to make my dreams happen than wait for absolute “perfection”.
