Open Audition for Fry Daddies

SYNOPSIS:
Fry Daddies captures the rhythm of everyday life—the highs, the lows, and the unexpected moments that make you laugh when you least expect it. It affirms that Black gay men live full, layered lives, grounded in love, friendship, chosen family, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.

• The roles of Jared and Bebe are pre-cast.
• The roles Lil Hoe and Wayne Whitehead are played by the same actor.
PRODUCTION DETAILS:
Production Dates:
August 6-24, 2026
• Thursday-Saturday 7 p.m., Sundays 4 p.m.
• The second and third Saturdays of the run also have a 2 p.m. matinee
Rehearsal Dates:
Tuesdays-Saturdays starting July 6, 2026.
Tech week begins Jul 31, 2026.
Honorarium: $1,750
GENERAL AUDITIONS:
Auditions will consist of prepared sides from the script. All sides are available here. We also have a limited number of hard copies available to read at The Union during business hours. We ask that you prepare 16 bars of music to sing acapella.
